How we did

The first week is scored once GW10 has been played. Each week after that is added automatically.

Captain

Not scored yet.

Our captain's points (doubled) against the average of the five players the top 100 captained most that week.

Projections

Not scored yet.

How far our projected points were from what players who started actually scored, on average.

Transfers

Not scored yet.

Our ten top-projected buys against the ten players the top 100 bought most, in points per gameweek over the three gameweeks the tips cover.

About this page

Every projection on this site comes from a simple model, and models get things wrong. This page keeps score, so you can judge how much to trust it.

How it works. Before each deadline we save the advice exactly as it stood: our captain, every player's projected points for the gameweek, and our ten top-projected buys. Once the gameweek has been played, we compare that saved advice with what actually happened. Nothing is changed after the deadline.

Captain. Our captain's points, doubled as in FPL, against the average of the five players the top 100 managers in the overall league captained most that week. Beating that is hard: it's a fair test.

Projections. For every player who started, the gap between our projection and his actual points, averaged. A single player can score 2 or 20, so even a good model is out by a few points a player.

Transfers. Our tips look three gameweeks ahead, so they're scored three gameweeks later: our ten top buys against the ten players the top 100 bought most that week, in average points per gameweek.

Questions

Why does it start at GW10?
That's the first gameweek we saved our advice before the deadline. We could work out what the model would have said for earlier weeks, but it would use information we didn't have at the time, so we don't.
Do you leave out bad weeks?
No. Every saved week is scored and shown, good or bad.
